Delegate Minister for External Trade, Economic Attractiveness, and French Citizens Abroad, under the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olivier Becht, visited the Alstom electric locomotive assembly plant in Astana, Kazakhstan during his visit to the country in May of this year.

The facility is operated by the French company Alstom, which has been successfully operating in the Kazakh market for over 10 years with the support of "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC. It is a significant player in the locomotive manufacturing sector. The plant currently employs over 850 highly skilled specialists. Alstom is the sole producer of electric locomotives and switchgear drives in Central Asia and the Caucasus region. It is a key participant in the revitalization of the railway industry and the development of the regional economy.
